What is LakshmiFi?
LakshmiFi is a youth-led financial literacy platform empowering students, mothers, and underrepresented communities with the tools, stories, and confidence to take charge of their financial futures. Through free books, interactive workshops, job-ready resources, and bite-sized lessons, LakshmiFi bridges the gap between traditional finance education and real life. From living rooms to libraries, WhatsApp chats to classroom walls, we’re building a world where every family — especially those often left out of the conversation — feels seen, heard, and equipped to succeed.
Our Mission
Hi! I’m Prathima Prakash, a high school senior, researcher, published author, and advocate for economic equity. I started LakshmiFi after years of watching the women around me carry emotional, cultural, and financial weight without access to the same financial tools men are taught early on. I began asking questions, and eventually, I started building answers. From writing my own personal finance book at 16 (Smart Money Talks), to piloting financial education programs with moms and middle schoolers, to launching Digital MOMs and Trove, I’ve always believed that financial literacy can be personal and powerful.
I’m here to make money make sense: for the girl who wants to buy her first car, the mom who never got to open a credit card, and the communities that have always been resourceful, just never resourced.
